Our approach

Care built around the dog in front of us.

No two dogs move through New York in quite the same way. Some love a lively avenue. Others settle on familiar side streets. Some need movement and stimulation; others need patience, space, and a predictable routine. Blue Dog begins by learning the difference.
A leash is handed over at an apartment doorway while a small terrier waits.

Our principles

  1. 01

    We learn the details

We ask about greetings, leash habits, preferred routes, triggers, feeding, bathroom routines, building procedures, medical considerations, and the way your dog communicates.

  2. 02

    We value familiarity

Care works better when the person at the door is someone your dog recognizes. Assignments are made thoughtfully, with continuity prioritized whenever possible.

  3. 03

    We adjust the visit

A good walk is not measured only in blocks or minutes. Weather, energy, age, mobility, street conditions, and temperament all shape what a successful visit looks like.

  4. 04

    We communicate clearly

Every completed visit should leave you informed—not overwhelmed. Updates focus on timing, behavior, care completed, and anything that deserves your attention.

  5. 05

    We protect the household

Keys, entry details and building instructions are collected privately once care is arranged, kept separate from everything else, and shared only with the people caring for your dog.

  6. 06

    We begin with an introduction

We review your request, speak with you, confirm that we are the right fit, and arrange an introduction before any recurring care begins.

Let's get to know your dog.

Tell us a little about your dog and the care you are looking for. We will review your request personally and follow up to discuss the right next step.

Submitting a request does not create a booking or charge.
